The core of our educational work…

The planning, preparation, implementation and evaluation of non-formal learning activities, in our context usually referred to as training, is core to our work. Our wide-ranging experience spans across a wide variety of topics from minority youth participation to environmental pollution and distance learning, a wide variety of target groups from civil servants to policy makers, researchers and social workers and last but not least also across a wide variety of methodological approaches from World Café Debates and Open Space Technology to Theatre of the Oppressed and Appreciative Inquiry.

Approaches

Some of our recent training activities include a series of training courses on European Citizenship, long-term courses on diversity and minority youth participation, pilot courses on youth participation at local and regional level, study sessions for young mediamakers, advanced trainins for social workers on experiential learning, and seminars on different themes including evaluation and Non-Formal Education 2.0.

Our methodological approach has been used in a variety of formats such as:

  • short initial training activities (2 – 4 days)
  • week-long training activities (5 – 7 days)
  • long residential activities (10 – 14 days)
  • training days (1/2 – 1 day)
  • long-term training activities (including several residential phases, monitoring and support over several months to 1 year)
  • short topical seminars (2-3 days)
  • succinct expert conferences (1-4 days)
  • symposia of practitioners, policy-makers and researchers (1-2 days)
